June 2011 - Rebuild 940 Machine
This older Mackintosh-Hemphill Model 940 machine was recently re-built back to new tolerances.
As part of the rebuild, the machine was re-engineered to include the following features.
Replaceable cast iron bushes were fitted to the base and crown of the machine to support re-engineered roll frames.
An offset counter / indicator was fitted to the bottom center roll to enable accurate setting of the required straightening offset.
The roll assemblies were re-engineered to include lateral roll adjustment to enable the rolls to be correctly aligned in the machine.
This Model 940 is now back in service, ready for several decades of service.
